The public toilets that serve West End Park and City Road Car and Lorry Parks will be open again this summer thanks to March Town Council. Although they are owned by Fenland District Council the economic climate meant that savings needed to be made. Consequently the District Council decided it could no longer afford the £30,000 per year to operate them. The Town Council has operated them since June 2012 and has made provision in the budget that will enable the toilets to be open again this year from 1 April through to 30 September.
Although some people who would prefer them to be open throughout the year the benefit achieved by opening them during the winter months is small when compare with the high cost.
Alternative toilet facilities are available in Broad Street, a short walk from City Road.
