⚫ Grants of up to £2,000 are available to eligible individuals, groups, organisations and councils delivering creative activities in Fenland

Fenland District Council’s new Fenland Culture Fund is now open for applications, to help bring arts, culture and heritage projects to life across the district.

Grants of up to £2,000 are available to eligible individuals, groups, organisations and councils delivering creative activities in Fenland, with applications open until Friday 15 January 2027.

The Council has invested £40,000 into the new fund, with:

  • £24,000 available for the grant programme
  • £16,000 allocated to support additional arts and culture activities at Fenland’s Four Seasons events: March St George’s Fayre, Chatteris Midsummer Festival, Whittlesey Festival and Wisbech Christmas Fayre.

The new fund builds on the success of previous Fenland Culture Fund programmes, which awarded a combined £90,000 to support a wide range of arts, culture and heritage projects and activities across the district.

Cllr Samantha Hoy, Fenland District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Culture, Housing and Licensing, said: “We’re delighted to open applications for the new Fenland Culture Fund grant programme and are looking forward to seeing what creative ideas are put forward.

“Through these grants, we want to support local cultural activity and create even more opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy arts, culture and heritage across the district.

“Whether you’re a local artist, community group, town council or cultural organisation, I’d encourage you to consider applying.”

The fund is open to individuals aged 16 and over who live or work in Fenland, as well as arts, culture and heritage organisations, community and voluntary groups, and town and parish councils delivering cultural activity within the district.

Funding can support a wide variety of projects and activities including performances, exhibitions, workshops, festivals, craft projects, heritage initiatives, and much more.

The Council welcomes applications from both first-time applicants and those who were unsuccessful in securing support through previous cultural funding programmes. Full details, eligibility criteria and the online application form are available at: www.fenland.gov.uk/fenlandculturefund
